Day 119, Painfully Slow

Catching Up

With progress painfully slow, I have not been good about about updating things here. Sorry for that. I went out this morning and took a few pictures to catch things up.

Above, you can see we restored the "store front" windows. The white paint is only a primer.

A small half-wall (which will be topped with a foot of satin glass) separates the reception area from the open workspace.

The 1970’s intercom won’t be staying as it will be replaced with a proximity card access system. The frosted glass/aluminum door is a new addition.

Sadly, it was determined our originally planned circular duct would hang too low, thus the rectangular duct is in place. You can see the channels we cut in the floor for our electrical/data outlets in the workspace. The four rooms to the left are a "break-out" office (for privacy), two "open" executive offices and a small conference room.

Our conference room will have a floor-to-ceiling glass wall separating it from the open workspace. You can see the frosted ribbon windows we installed along the south wall. Although the next building is only two feet away, plenty of sunlight makes it way in.

What used to be the back door of the original building now opens to the 600sqft we added for pantry, bathrooms, storage and mechanical.

Perhaps one of my favorite features are the low windows along the open workspace’s north wall. These were the original vent openings when the building was used as a laundry cleaners. While taped over now, the satin/frosted glass looks sharp.
