Where exactly?
The building is located at 204 South Parker, two blocks west of downtown Bryan’s Main Street,
between 27th and 28th. We are tucked inside the curve of the train tracks just behind the Old
Bryan Marketplace. Across the street is the Temple Freda, a Jewish synagogue built in 1912
currently on the National Register of Historic Places.
Good stuff
We have officed downtown since 2003, and wanted to be down here well before that.
In that time, there are a number of things we’ve grown to really enjoy, and only a few we don’t care for.
The essentials
We are walking distance to twelve restaurants, a hardware store (you’d be surprised how handy that is),
a drug store (for when WatchOle gives me headaches) and a dollar general (for frequent snack times).
The warm and fuzzies
Relative to the area, downtown Bryan has a great architectural uniqueness that is fun to work within. There is also a great sense of community
you get from knowing your neighbors and seeing them on a consistent basis.
The geeky
There is optical fiber to the building (great for watching HD movie trailers), and we are walking distance to the
herd of brainiacs over at Managed Networks/Fibertown.
Not-so-good stuff
The ridiculously long and loud horn blasts from the train every few hours are a killer, but we already have that
in our current office downtown. Our building is about a block from the real happenings from downtown, so our
streets and curbs and immediately adjacent properties will take a bit longer to get fixed up.
Moving on
Demo should be finished-up the early part of next week. During that time, we will also be cutting
a few holes on our concrete walls for windows and doorways.
