Day 1, Here we go!

by ooshwa

Ninety days or less

Today marks the start of renovation of what is to become the new home for myBCS and TexAgs. Earlier this week, we closed on this 1950’s laundry cleaners in downtown Bryan. In less than 90 days, we expect to be officing inside. We have a lot to do!

Without going into too much detail (yet), the plan is to completely demo the inside of the building, leaving only the walls and roof, and then completely rebuild the interior from the ground up. We will combine this with a restoration of the exterior fitting to its original design. I will do my best to take pictures every few day to allow you to track with our progress.

First Step, Abatement

With most of the paperwork already taken care of (surveys, plans, insurance, etc.), today begins the abatement process to remove about 200 square feet of tile that has an asbestos backing on it. By the end of the day, it should be out and we can begin some general clean up inside.

I’ll be back early next week with more details about the building's location, its history and what we have in store for it.
